Some Favorite Images
At left, a view of the beach at San Juan del Sur, a favorite of locals and expats alike. This picture was taken during one of the busiest vacation times of the year, Semana Santa at Easter.
At left, each town in Nicaragua seems to have a central plaza with the local cathedral as the focal point. This grand colonial cathedral stands in the large plaza in the historic city of Granada on the shores of Lake Nicaragua.
Above, orchids are easy to grow in Nicaragua and are cultivated in many gardens.
At left, spring blossoms glow with a neon tint in one of the many valleys along the road south of Managua, Carretera Sur.
Below, a visit to Roberto Heumbes Mercado means fresh tortillas for only one cordoba, about 6 US cents!
